On the edge of a lost island, surrounded by cliffs and silent waves, there once lay a cemetery. Here, society buried its outcasts: lepers, heretics, and the mentally ill. These people were deemed cursed.

It was said that the land absorbed their suffering, and their souls could not find peace even after death. Many years ago, thirteen elder families of the island, seeking to rid themselves of this place, decided to flood the cemetery. The waters came, along with rumors of eerie cries at night and strange shadows wandering the island.

Where the cemetery once stood, Chaweng Lake emerged, with a small island in its center. To prevent further misfortune, those who didn’t fit into the ideal society—cripples, outcasts, prostitutes, and criminals—were exiled here. A military garrison was established at the island’s entrance, later converted into a police station, to ensure that these outcasts wouldn’t disturb the local residents’ lives.
“Alive, alive, the cemetery flooded with water,” warned the fearful whispers of the townsfolk. Not a single fisherman dared to sail across the lake.

Over time, fear of the place faded, and its history was forgotten. People began constructing buildings, and soon a street with bars and a stadium, where former prisoners would fight, sprang up.

Everything changed when a young and ambitious entrepreneur arrived on the island. He wanted to transform this “dark corner of the world” into something unique. In the center of the island, over the very spot where the cemetery once lay, he decided to build a restaurant. Construction began, but locals warned him of the curse. Workers spoke of strange occurrences: tools disappearing, whispers at night, and water seeping from the ground with an odd hue.

A year later, PlunkTone Restaurant & Bar opened its doors. It became a sensation. People from all over the world came to taste dishes made from seafood caught off the island’s shores and to experience the mysterious atmosphere.

The restaurant’s interior incorporated sunken artifacts found on the Isle of Lovers. Yet, the place remained restless. Guests spoke of strange occurrences: flickering lights, fleeting shadows in mirrors, and wine turning salty in glasses, as if infused with tears. One waitress claimed she saw a strange figure in the lake—a silhouette in tattered old clothing whispering something in an unknown language.

Since then, PlunkTone Restaurant & Bar has become not only a haven for gourmets but also a magnet for mystery enthusiasts. Some came for the exquisite cuisine; others sought a brush with the inexplicable, the supernatural.
